Brooklyn, NY — NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health has announced the expansion of its dermatology services to provide a broader range of skin care options for New York City residents. This strategic move is designed to enhance access to professional dermatological care, including comprehensive screenings for skin cancer, early detection of conditions like melanoma, and treatment for a variety of skin diseases.
As part of the expansion, the Gotham Health Broadway location now offers dermatology services, with plans to extend these services to additional locations across the city. Led by Dr. Alisen Huang, the dermatology team at Gotham Health provides evaluations and treatments for conditions such as eczema, acne, psoriasis, and skin cancer screenings. The comprehensive skin cancer screenings, a central component of the new service, play a critical role in early detection of melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma — all of which are most treatable in their early stages.
In addition to medical dermatology, Gotham Health now offers cosmetic dermatology and laser treatments. These services cater to patients seeking to improve their skin’s appearance and boost their confidence. Among the new offerings are procedures such as skin tag removal, chemical peels for acne scars, personalized beauty consultations, and laser treatments for pigmentation issues.
This initiative is a testament to Gotham Health’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that all New Yorkers, regardless of immigration status, insurance coverage, or financial means, have equal access to high-quality specialized care. The expansion addresses the growing demand for accessible dermatology services and aims to eliminate long-standing healthcare disparities in communities that have lacked these essential services.
“Many individuals face long waiting times or financial barriers when seeking dermatology care. By offering these services at Gotham Health, we ensure that everyone can access high-quality skin care, regardless of their ability to pay or immigration status,” said Michelle Lewis, CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health.
Dr. Alisen Huang, a dermatologist at Gotham Health, expressed enthusiasm about the new services, stating, “I am thrilled to provide comprehensive skin care to the community. We are dedicated to offering personalized, high-quality care that enhances patients’ overall skin health.”
