Facility Offers Comprehensive Women’s Care and Maternal Support in Lafayette
Lourdes Physician Group has officially opened its new “Healthy Mom” clinic, celebrating with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in recognition of Women’s Health Month.
The clinic, located in Lafayette, is designed to provide a full range of services for women, including obstetrics and gynecology care, in-room ultrasounds, breastfeeding support, and consultations with registered dietitians.
According to nurse practitioner Kelly Crim, the clinic’s main advantage is convenience—patients can receive all their essential women’s health services under one roof.
“We provide routine prenatal care here. If a patient needs a specialist or high-risk care, we refer them to our maternal-fetal medicine doctor,” Crim said. “We also offer gynecological services like annual exams and various tests, including biopsies if needed. We’re equipped to handle all of it right here.”
Stephanie King, an obstetric nurse and pregnancy navigator, plays a key role in making sure every woman at the clinic gets the care and resources she needs.
“My job is to connect women with the right providers and services to support maternal health,” King said. “We also help with breastfeeding guidance and dietitian support, making sure our patients receive complete care during and after pregnancy.”
The new clinic is part of Lourdes Health’s $100 million “Advancing Acadiana” initiative, launched in 2024. The multi-phase project aims to modernize maternal care across several locations by improving labor and delivery experiences, building a new mother-baby unit, upgrading women’s medical-surgical wards, and expanding the neonatal intensive care unit.
The clinic represents a major step forward in local healthcare, addressing the comprehensive needs of women and improving access to essential maternal services.
