LIFT Health Center, located in Jackson, Tennessee, has recently been awarded re-certification by the Medical Fitness Association (MFA). The MFA, a leading organization dedicated to integrating healthcare and fitness facilities, has recognized LIFT for maintaining the highest standards of professional expertise and quality programs.
This re-certification underscores LIFT Health Center’s ongoing dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles, reducing the risk of disease, and enhancing overall well-being. LIFT has distinguished itself as one of only 49 centers across the nation—and the sole certified facility in West Tennessee—to achieve this prestigious recognition.
Miki Martin, the center’s Director of Physical Therapy, expressed pride in the re-certification, noting, “LIFT Health Center is not just a gym; it is a place where individuals can experience a healthier lifestyle in a safe, clean, and supportive environment. Our highly trained staff provide excellent service, and our programs cater to a wide variety of needs for all members of the community.”
The MFA’s certification is the only program specifically designed for the medical fitness sector. It is based on internationally recognized standards and guidelines, ensuring that certified facilities provide a high level of quality and safety in their programs and services. The certification process involves a thorough on-site review to assess a facility’s compliance with these established standards.
David Flench, President and CEO of the Medical Fitness Association, emphasized the growing importance of medical fitness centers in addressing the rising prevalence of chronic diseases. “Studies have shown that maintaining an active lifestyle, especially in a safe and supportive environment, significantly reduces the risk of future health issues,” Flench explained. “LIFT Health Center has taken an important step in providing this high level of care for its community.”
West Tennessee Healthcare, the nonprofit public healthcare system that operates LIFT Health Center, serves residents in 19 counties across West Tennessee and southeast Missouri. Its mission is to improve the health and well-being of the communities it serves while offering compassionate, high-quality care.
The Medical Fitness Association, established in 1991, is a nonprofit professional membership organization that assists medical fitness centers in maximizing their potential. Through providing industry standards, certification opportunities, and professional development resources, MFA aims to enhance the success and integration of medical fitness programs across the nation.
